I attend the University of New England which has thousands of people, but this is no comparison to what my high school was like. I came from a school of only 150 kids a class. It was crazy, everyone new everyone. However, I’m not the only one that has this issue. Marie’s interviewee spoke about here experiences, and how it has changed her identity. In a bigger school, you’re able to hide your identity, “but in a smaller school, you’re kind of forced to step out of your comfort zone because I feel there are more opportunities to do that.” Stepping out of your comfort zone isn’t an easy thing to do, but by doing so, something else in a person opens up. A new personality is exposed, which was once hidden before. Strawson is a believer that humans are, “made up of several persons and that the person that at the moment has the upper hand will inevitably give place to another.” This relates directly with Marie’s interviewee. Since she was at a smaller school, she even said she had a different personality than if she went to a smaller school. I can also relate to this. My personality in high school has been completely different than at the University. Granted, I am slowly finding my new identity as a college student, but the old me has differences from the new me. Depending omg the situation a person is in will determine which person will be seen in the moment.
What an interesting and unexpected connection you’ve built between these two texts. Well done! Try writing a one-sentence mini-thesis for this paragraph and sticking it at the top of the paragraph. Notice how the paragraph changes.
